Sleep with OnePlus Watch 2

Thanks for the quick reply @petr-urbandroid ! I just tried the 5.27 beta and did a bit of testing:

  • It is not vibrating when in either Do Not Disturb or Bedtime mode even when the screen is/was on and active.
  • The Sleep app vibrates as expected when neither of these modes are active.
  • The default Alarm app does vibrate when in these modes, even when the screen is off.
  • I think it may have vibrated once when on Sleep mode during my first test but I could not reproduce and it’s possible I did not put Bedtime mode on for that test.

Unsure if this is a OnePlus or a Sleep issue but happy to test anything you can think of!

Hello, Brett,

Sorry, the thread ended up being quite a mess, as not only I reported several behaviors, but at different times (as I discovered them). But indeed, both DND and Bedtime modes completely ignore alarm vibrations or even sounds.

I have opened a support case with OnePlus about the missing vibrations on screen off, and have also mentioned the problem with DND or Bedtime mode. Their latest reply indicates the dev team received my report and “thanked me”, so that is better news than I was expecting, as it hints they are really considering work on it.

Feel free to open another one to put pressure on them. Be warned in advance they will ask you a ton of data, to test clearing app data, reinstalling the app and even a factory reset. I was really stubborn with this one.

Thanks @ravemir ! It does seem like an issue on their side so glad to hear they seem to be taking it (somewhat) seriously. I will also reach out to them to get more visibility into it!

So to recap (as this thread got split into 2 topics: graph gaps and no vibration).

Is there a solution for graph gaps? The best I could do is to have gaps only around awake times:

I probably could live with it but I see other screenshots here w/o gaps – how do you achieve it??

The setup:

  • Google Pixel 6 with SAA 20241122 (Premium)
  • OnePlus Watch 2 with SAA 5.16
  • On the watch:
    • Auto-hibernation disabled (w/o HR tracking stopped ~30min after starting sleep tracking)
    • “Pause app activity if unused” is disabled for SAA
    • Sensors access at all times granted
    • Auto Sleep mode enabled

For posterity: the solution for OnePlus+ Watch 2 to get consistent sleep graphs with no gaps is to join the beta channel (How do I opt-in to Beta testing channel? - Sleep as Android).

After doing so (the phone app version now is 20250218, watch – 5.27; thank you @lenka-urbandroid for guiding me through it providing general support) I get no more red bars of sleep graphs. And I didn’t notice a battery usage increase for the watch as well: it’s now around 1.5-2.0% of the battery per hour of sleep. With this my OnePlus+ Watch 2 lasts 2 days with the Always-On Display feature.

Overall the setup is:

  • Beta channel SAA apps both on the phone and watch.
  • On the watch:
    • Auto-hibernation disabled.
    • “Pause app activity if unused” is disabled for SAA.
    • Sensors access at all times granted.
    • Auto Sleep mode enabled.
