WHOOP wearable technology

WHOOP has been around for a long time, focusing on the analysis of sleep efficiency. Of the several devices I have tested, this is the most convenient. I think a combination of your analyses would be interesting.

Hello Konrad, the API seems to be opened, but the data they are providing are aggregated, we need a direct access to the sensor data, so we can perform our analysis in real time. This API only sends the information about which sleep phase they already estimated.

I used to use the Pebble Watch with your app. Now I miss the data (HR) because I use WHOOP (and this is unlikely to change  ). I’m uploading combined screenshots from both apps.

Does Whoop have a ‘any-wear’ technology?

Just wanted to mention - WHOOP also has a “HR Broadcasting” mode in which the whoop band broadcasts the heart rate via ANT+ and BLE. That should be the raw data and work

Any update on this?
Does the whoop broadcasting allow it to work with S4A?

Hi, the Whoop developer platform does not seem to have an API for sensor data.
They provide the data about the finished sleep analysis, and some other data (like fitness data, steps calories…), but we need a direct access to the unprocessed data on the sensor in real time.
If you wish to sync a finished sleep analysis, you can use Health Connect service.

For HR, it should be possible to fetch the data via the BTLE protocol, so you can configure this in Sleep in Settings > Sleep tracking > Wearables > Smart Bluetooth.
This will start the BT scanning process, and if you see the Whoop device listed with a heart icon, the protocol is free to read the HR data and the Sleep app will fetch the HR from the wearable.
