Pixel 6, can't connect to fitbit versa 3 for sensor tracking

I do have Fitbit app installed with the device configured, in sleep as android i have “Fitbit” selected under “Wearables” and I have the sleep as android app open on my smartwatch.
When i try to test the sensors I just get the “Waiting for connectivity” screen until it fails and it show me data from my Pixel accelerometer.

I am on the last version of the app to date

I’m having a similar issue but it works when I start the tracking from my phone. I’m using a Versa Lite and a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G running Android 12.
