Insane battery drain of watch over night

Detailed description of the problem:

The battery goes from 100% to 0% over night. I am using Galaxy Watch 4. The watch had intrinsic battery drain problems on its own in past weeks, but the latest problems seems to be correlated with the latest Saa update.

Steps to reproduce:

Version of Sleep as Android: 20260121

Hi @darth , What is the version of the Sleep app on the watch?
If you reboot the wearable before going to bed, how does the battery consumption look like?
Is there any other app running (for example, monitoring SpO2)?

I have to admit, I dont know. I have uninstalled it in attempt to get some battery life back, which quite did not. So the problem is also with Samsung.

After reinstalling, it says 5.32

I am not aware of any other actively used app.

OK, let’s test the battery for one night after a reboot (this should ensure only apps we know of are active).

After you start tracking, try to check if the SpO2 diodes (the red ones) are engaged, this will tell us, if the system is also running some data collection.

Today, the battery went from 100% to 35% with battery saver on. I did not notice SpO2 diodes. It is not zero, but still a lot.

Hi, the average battery consumption is about 2.5% per hour of tracking on Wear OS. So anything above can indicate some issue. How long have you been having this issue, approximately?

Last update of Wear companion app was on 19th December.

Could you please use the Left ≡ menu → (?) Support → Report a bug, and send your application logs?

The problem is happening for about 2 weeks. I have sent the bug report earlier, probably from different email than here.

It somewhat coincides with OS update to 8.0, there are tons of reports of increased battery drainage. However, I employed the suggested fixes and it felt it went a way. Maybe, only temporarily.

Also, there was similar period (last year?) and I found reports, that it was connected to updated API, which SaaD is using.

Which brings vaguely related question: if I enable the access to Samsung Health, does SaaD write data in it, or can it be used as source of data? E.g. then I could uninstall the companion app, as the necessary data would be read from the Samsung Health in the phone?

Hi, S Health sync is both ways (with needed permissions). But it only works during the sync, so it does not support real-time tracking.
For some reason, I have no report in my support inbox. May I ask you to send it again? You should get an automatic reply as confirmation that the email made it to the inbox.

Are you using the HR data reading? Does it have a big impact on the consumption?

We do not have any reports so far, so I hope there is some issue on our side (because we can fix that).

Next attempt should be on the way.

I dont have the S Health sync on now. I have some basic Health Report collected, I did not in depth check is power consumption. Strangly, the battery monitoring app is not giving me anything at all (I mean the per-app consumption)
