How to add new internet radio stations?

I’m trying to add a new internet radio station (SomaFM’s “The Trip”) to use as my default alarm, but I can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve tried using the direct player URL (https://somafm.com/player/#/now-playing/thetrip), the m3u URL, and the pls URL. I’ve tried using https and regular http, and I’ve tried using other stations just in case it was unique to The Trip. None of them will preview when I set them as the ringtone; the progress wheel just sits and spins forever.

I’m certain I’m doing something wrong, and it’s probably going to be something simple and stupid, but I can’t for the life of me figure it out.

Hi, you need the direct url of the stream.
m3u and pls are just containers for the URL (or for more urls), just text files that contain urls.
So when you open the m3u in a text editor, you’ll see the stream url.

I did that for you with The Trip:
http://ice1.somafm.com/thetrip-128-mp3

Okay, that makes a lot more sense. I knew I was doing something wrong.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Firstly, apologies for posting on an old post, not sure if I should be posting it as a new post. I have been trying to get the workable link for “Nova969”. I’ve gotten a few other stations to work, but this one just does not work, and it’s the one I wanted. Can you please shine your knowledge in the area?

https://www.nova969.com.au/nova969-player” is the link to the website. I’ve tried going through TuneIn, and “development tools” tab on Chrome - I get this link

https://21423.live.streamtheworld.com/NOVA_969_AAC48.aac?dist=triton-widget&tdsdk=js-2.9&pname=tdwidgets&pversion=2.9&banners=none&sbmid=17fdbef0-da45-426b-84ae-03d8335f6374

,which does not work with Sleep as Android.

Kindest Regards,
Alvy
