Graph type in Home screen Graphs tab

Hi,

Recently I installed Sleep as Android on another phone, and noticed that it displays Hypnogram in the Graphs tab, while my original phone displays Phases in the Graphs tab. I searched around and didn’t find the place to toggle the graph type. Is it configurable? Or it’s just hanging on a now obsolete config item? It’s not affecting my usage, just curious.

Both phone had installed version 20251203.

Hi @tiberius, the app shows Hypnogram, if you have this type of graph enabled for the graph view.

Tap on the graph card to open the view and scroll to the bottom. Tap Hide / Show button, and disableHypnogram (make sure the Phases card is enabled).
This should change the view on the main screen on the graph card.

Hi @lenka-urbandroid, thanks for your prompt reply!

I’ve tried on my new phone, and indeed, if I disable Hypnogram in the graph Hide/Show menu, the list will become Phases.

What’s interesting is that on my old phone the Hypnogram is enabled (the Hide/Show menu has all charts enabled), but the list is showing Phases. I tried to disable/enable Hypnogram and Phases, but the graph on the list tab didn’t change. It comes to my mind that I have some really dated records on this phone (~2014) that has only Actigraph, or Actigraph and Noise, perhaps it affected some logic …

The graph type affects how the data are displayed; the date of the graph should not matter (so the newer Phases view can be used for the oldest graphs).
So you see the Phases, even when this type is disabled on one of the phones? Is it using the same Sleep version?

Hi,

Yes, the version is 20251203 on both phone (checked via Android Settings → Apps)

Hi, do you use Morning screen? Can you check in the morning, after you finish the tracking, what is the configuration of the Morning screen in terms of Hypnogram vs Phases?

Hi,

I have Morning screen enabled on my old phone, tried to track sleep with my old phone last night, and indeed, the Morning screen has Hypnogram and Phases graph disabled. (I think I never changed these settings so it must have been added after I started using it).

After I enabled Hypnogram in Morning screen, the list become Hypnogram. Mystery solved
