I often forget to start sleep tracking and this is why there is a big lack of sleep data. It would be cool if you could detect if the user is sleeping in a way (noise around, time slots, regular checks all 30mins after normal sleep time). Also it could lead to higher usage of the app

but it does not start the sleep tracking, my official mi fit app detects my sleep schedule with only few minutes difference (that would be perfect to start sleep tracking), any chance we can have this integrated for starting the sleep tracking ?

How do I disable this feature? It only suggests incorrect information for me because I spend long periods of time without using my phone during the day.

I literally gasped as I saw this in my inbox.
Urbandroid Team, you rock!

I would prefere to detect the sleep state through the breathing patern, not through the lack of phone activity. No activity on the phone can be anything.

Then how about receiving the aggregated data from Mi band tools periodically, and SaA analyzing it for automatic sleep tracking? For example, SaA triggers Mi band tools to collect and forward the aggregated data every 30 minutes or whatever, around regular sleeping time or user set time.

Migraine Buddy does (and has done for a while) an excellent job of auto detecting sleep and wake times, with no smart watch needed.

+Janying… sorry this feature is technically not feasible with Mi Band. There is no way Mi Band could know you are sleeping just now… it will know in few hours that you have been sleeping few hours ago based on a longer history of aggregated data… So if you need this feature you better use Mi Band for that directly. If you want to see your Mi Band sleep data in Sleep as Android you can use the Google Fit integration in Mi Fit and Sleep as Android…
From Janying on 2017/06/07 15:25:27 +0000
Its time to sit down with "Mi band tools" team to have this implemented. I think this feature is crucial to both of these two apps!

Fitbit implemented these auto sleep-detect perfectly! Too bad my Fitbit Charge HR literally disintegrated just months after purchased due to its material and design/manufacture flaw which prompt me to not buy from them again! Besides, your app is better… only lacking these auto sleep-detect!!!
From Anonymous on 2017/05/21 12:04:09 +0000
Can use 'Mi band 2' to detect? This feature is desperately needed! 'Mi Band 2' original sleep-detect sucks BIG TIME, while Fitbit's works so perfectly…

+Andrey we are not awake that the S Health app would be doing this detection and if I think it does that ex post, can you point me to some resource about this feature?
From Andrey Ivanov on 2017/05/19 07:17:39 +0000
It could be great to start sleep tracking automatically by integration with S Health app, that does this detection.
From Andrei Gherzan on 2017/05/07 23:11:13 +0000
This is a fundamental feature used on all the trackers out there. I hope this can be implemented in this android app too. Can use wearables to detect sleep.

For ideas on this you could have a look at the Microsoft Band Developer documentation as it was quite detailed if I remember in explaining how some things were done.

Just autostart like the S health app, that is accurate and is.

Actually I use a common alarm for "double" s.a.android. And 5-6 days in a week there is no s.a.android track and alarm just because I have to find the app, then open the app, then push start track button. For what? When my common alarm just ring when I choose.
My opinion it's all about sense of "it's just supposed to be like that"
U set up alarm and alarm work. Yup, this app is little bit more than usual alarm, but that's what it should do.
Just wake me up when I need it.
U can do it gentle and give some stats and help with snoring and help with something else - great. But if I already SET UP THE ALARM and it doesn't work - by itself - there is something wrong I guess.

Janis, just searched Yourtube, there is no tutorial on Tasker with Sleep as Android…forgot to do it? Or please share the link. You say is easily attainable. Ok. But for most users, Tasker is not an "easy" app to understand. I bought it long ago never used it - I am a "geeky" techie person, however I dismissed it because is is not intuitive and and lacked the motivation to get into it… lazyness, perhaps. I spend a lot of time working on code, so when I use an app for my PHONE, I don't want to start working again. It may be super easy, well - then maybe there's no need for a video tutorial and you could share the steps here? If it needs a video and a tutorial, then… is is not that easy perhaps?
Please share your knowledge, that you mentioned twice, but gave no clue. (for all of us lazy people like me and people that consider tasker not an easy app) Thanks in advance!

@Elias, that's a great idea! Does it turn NFC off, too? How do you turn things back on in the morning?
From Elias on 2016/09/11 22:02:59 +0000
I solved this using the app trigger. I have an nfc tag right next to my bed and when I tap my phone against it it turns off wifi and other connections (flight mode basically). At the same time it starts the sleep tracking. It's very easy to set up with the app
