Amazfit Bip 5 Unity

I don’t see the Bip 5 Unity listed as supported and haven’t been able to get it to connect. Can you support it, please? How do I invoke the pairing dialog?

Have you tried pairing the Bip 5 Unity with Tools & Amazfit? That’s how I got my OG Bip S to work with it, might need to do the same.
My Bip 5 Unity should be coming in a few days so I can test as well.

I wasn’t able to get the Bip 5 Unity to be properly paired with Tools & Amazfit. if you succeed, please post how you accomplished that.

I’ve also tried with gadgetbridge, which claims to support this model. But I got stuck when it wouldn’t move past entering the long key to my Zepp account - I entered the key but was stuck on that page.

Thanks.

Actually mine came in yesterday after I posted the above message and I did try to pair it with Amazfit tools but no luck.

I am going to return it though, and look for another Amazfit watch though since this one doesn’t have an ‘always on’ display at all.

Hi, all Amazfit wearables can be integrated only via the companion apps (Notify or Tools). This is because the platform is closed for direct integrations, and there is no public-facing API.
This means a lot of limitations. The companion apps have to use highly advanced techniques to hack the data flow. And not always it is possible to hack it. As Amazfit is trying to block these unofficial integrations, they seem to be implementing more and more technical obstacles.
We are compatible only with models, that the companion app was able to hack and can access the data flow in the real time.

I think the Tools & Amazfit app has been abandoned, or the tech support team is no longer replying to support emails (I tried to contact them for the issue of not pairing with the Bip 5 Unity, but never heard back from them).
I guess I can try the Notify app see if have any luck, will have to research which Amazfit watches they support though.

Hi @Sinistar83, the Tools app is maintained by only one developer, and from the Release notes, I think he just had a baby, so he might be behind with his work…

I am not sure, if Bit Unity is even compatible with Tools, at least in their docs, only Bip / Bip Lite / Bip S are mentioned.

In Notify specifications, the Bip 5 is listed as compatible.

I gave up on the Tools app and I even emailed them again after recently having to factory reset my Pixel and trying to connect my older Amazfit Bip S back to it but they never responded. I eventually got it working again but only using that for sleep tracking but since the watch is older the vibration motor seems to be going out and it’s not as strong as it was before.

Now using a CMF Watch Pro 2 as a daily driver but I know it’s not supported by SaA so I’m looking for a new wearable to use for sleep tracking with a really strong vibration motor in it since I recently have some moderate hearing loss in one of my ears.

Hi, if your main criterion is vibration strength, focus on the wearables with customizable vibrations. Some users reported that some Galaxy Watches have quite a strong vibration.
All the current compatible wearable list is avialable here.
